1. Meaning of Ayurveda
Ayurveda means “the science (Veda) of life (Ayur)”.

Health is balance, not mere absence of disease.
Ayurveda identifies three fundamental energies, or doshas:
Vata – movement, air & ether, governs circulation, breathing, and nervous system.
Pitta – transformation, fire & water, governs digestion, metabolism, and vision.
Kapha – structure, earth & water, governs stability, immunity, and growth.
Well-being is achieved by keeping these doshas in harmony according to your individual constitution (prakriti).
